Jan 09, 2010 Lake Louise, Alberta

Arrived in Lake Louise around 8:30 p.m. after skiing at Kicking Horse on Jan 8.
Endless scenery!
These are the Canadian Rockies as we get closer to Calgary. Vertical drop of Lake Louise Ski Area is a respectable 3,250'
1) We meet the crowds from Calgary as this is Saturday. All lifts have lines. A mass of humanity at base area in morning, noon and end of day. Parking lots are full and access roads are lined with late arrivals. Skied 22.600 vertical. Varied terrain, alpine bowls on back side, treeless at top leading into tree lines runs at lower 2/3s of front side.
2) Dinner at Chateau Lake Louise followed by Brett & Pele ice skating on Lake Louise with Ice Castle center piece.
Drive about 45 minutes to Sunshine Village Ski Resort.
